Candle Care

1.  Keep the wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch each time you light your candle.  While burning your candle, if you notice the flame is high or bouncy, then you need to extinguish your candle and trim the wicks.

2.  Avoid drafts to keep candles from smoking or dripping.

3.  Keep away from all flammable materials.

4.  Always place in or on an appropriate holder and on stable even surface.

5.  Keep away from children and pets.

6.  Keep free of debris.  Don't let wick trimmings, matches, etc. fall into the wax pool.

7.  Use caution when extinguishing the flame.  Do not blow or snuff out.  Use a wick dipper to dip the wick in the wax to extinguish the flame and pull the wick back up from the wax once extinguished.  This method of extinguishing your candle allows easier relighting, eliminates soot from blowing out or snuffing out your candle and reduces the risk of splattering wax.  And it also allows for easier relighting.

8.  Glass or metal containers may become very hot, handle with care!

9.  Do not allow the flame to touch the side of the jar.

10.  Do not use if the container is chipped or cracked.

11.  Do not burn all the way to the bottom of the container.  When your candle reaches 1/2 inch from the bottom of the jar, either put it on a candle warmer or put the remaining wax in a tart warmer.  Do not burn the remaining 1/2 inch.  You take the risk of the jar shattering.  Candle containers become extremely hot when there is little wax left in the container.

12.  Always place on a heat resistant surface, such as a trivet or plate.
